Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Law, Management and Society (IJLMAS) welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts across law, management, public policy, governance, and the social sciences. The journal is built for early-career authors and welcomes inter-disciplinary work that crosses departmental lines.

Manuscript types

  • Original research articles — empirical, theoretical, or interpretive contributions across the journal's scope (typically 6,000–10,000 words).
  • Review articles and systematic reviews — surveys of recent scholarship, methodological reviews, or critical overviews of a sub-field.
  • Methodological papers — contributions to the toolkit of inter-disciplinary research, including reflexive method-papers and mixed-method studies.
  • Case studies and field reports — substantive accounts of specific sites, programmes, classrooms, or policy initiatives.
  • Essays and scholarly commentary — humanistic essays, critical commentaries, and reflective pieces (typically 3,000–6,000 words).
  • Short communications — concise contributions on a focused finding or argument within scope (typically 1,500–3,000 words).

Submission preparation

  • Submit manuscripts in English using clear academic language. The journal accepts both British and American spelling; consistency within a manuscript is required.
  • Include title, abstract (150–250 words), keywords (4–8), author details, affiliations, ORCID iDs, and corresponding author contact.
  • Remove author-identifying information from the main manuscript file for double-blind review. Submit author details on a separate title page.
  • Provide funding, conflict-of-interest, ethics approval, and data availability statements where applicable.
  • Use a consistent citation style (Chicago Author-Date, APA 7, or MLA 9 are all accepted); include DOIs where available.
  • Figures, tables, and supplementary material may be embedded for review and supplied as separate files at acceptance.

Review and ethics

All submissions are screened for scope, completeness, originality, and ethical compliance before peer review. Manuscripts are evaluated through double-blind review. See Peer Review Process, Publication Ethics, and Plagiarism Policy.

Charges and licensing

IJLMAS is currently operating an indefinite launch-period APC waiver — there is no submission, review, or publication charge at this time. See Article Processing Charges, Waiver Policy, and Copyright & Licensing for the full policies.
